Madhulika Yalamanchi’s first volunteering experience was with NSS (National Service Scheme), BITS Pilani. "Through this experience, she decided she wanted to work in rural Rajasthan and her association with AID later provided the avenues to explore her interest - through knowledge of wide range of issues and contacts of individuals and groups". As an AID Austin volunteer, she coordinated a number of projects and campaigns, including the Narmada and Bhopal campaigns. Back in India, she interned with Sahyog on a study about unorganized worker rights with a focus on women workers. She also volunteered with AID Chennai, MKSS and the Timbuktu collective among others.

Madhulika Yalamanchi was an Associate Jeevansaathi with AID for 2007 and received a stipend amount of $4000. During this period, she was based in Badesar Tehsil of Chittorgarh district working with Lok Shikshan Sansthan and Mazdoor Kisan Sangathan Rajasthan. She worked on BPL (Below Poverty Level) and PDS (Public Distribution System) campaigns. She also worked to support women and girls who were assuming roles of responsibility within the campaigns.

Madhulika is currently based in Dungarpur district of Rajasthan working on gender and labour related issues in partnership with local organizations.
